Creating a space for healing and hope
Sarah Emery, LCSW
Sarah Emery, LCSW, has called the Gulf Coast home since 2006, but her journey in social work began in Hawaii in 1999, when she volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem. It was there that she discovered her passion for child advocacy and the meaningful work of supporting individuals and families through challenging seasons of life.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast program and later completed her Master of Social Work at Campbellsville University. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including CASA of South Mississippi and public health, where she specialized in perinatal high-risk case management and worked with expectant and parenting teens. She also served as a mental health therapist in Fairfax, Virginia, working with adolescents experiencing serious mental health challenges.
As a clinical social worker and supervisor in community mental health, Sarah has provided assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to adults, children, and families experiencing significant mental health challenges. These experiences have shaped her belief that meaningful change is possible, even during the most difficult seasons.
Sarah also brings a unique personal understanding to her work as a Navy spouse, having experienced firsthand the challenges and transitions that come with military life. This perspective deepens her empathy and connection with military families and others navigating change and uncertainty.
Sarah approaches her work from a place of compassion, collaboration, and above all, hope. She believes every person has the capacity for growth and that sometimes having the right person walk alongside you can make all the difference.
